Privacy Policy
NomNomSom, LLC · Effective July 24, 2026
Renew is a Scripture meditation app made by NomNomSom, LLC ("we," "us"). This policy
explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to
the Renew apps and the website at renewapp.io (the "Service").
The short version: what you share with Renew — how your
heart is feeling, your prayers — is spiritual and personal. We use it only to run the app
for you. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. If you sign in with Google or Apple: your name,
email address, and profile photo, plus an account identifier. Guest mode requires no
account — guest preferences and history stay in your browser or device storage.
- Preferences and activity in the app. Your chosen narration voice,
gender, Bible translation, playback settings, saved meditations, and your emotional
check-ins (the feelings you select and how often). Signed-in users' data is stored with
their account; guests' stays on the device.
- Prayer requests and feedback. The text you write when you add a
prayer request or send a suggestion, stored with your account (or a device key for
guests).
- Subscription status. Whether you have Renew Pro, managed through
RevenueCat using an account identifier or a non-personal anonymous purchase identifier
when you subscribe as a guest. Payments are processed by Apple App Store, Google
Play, or Stripe; your card number never reaches our servers.
- Usage information. App events (for example: passage played,
meditation generated) with your account or a guest label, and standard analytics collected
via Google Analytics for Firebase (device type, approximate location from IP, app
version). We use this to understand what's working and to prevent abuse.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, a device-scoped push
subscription or token so we can tell you when a meditation is ready and send occasional
Scripture reminders. You can turn notifications off in Renew Settings or your browser or
device settings.
2. A note on sensitive information
By its nature, Renew touches religious and emotional life: the emotions you check in
with, and the prayers you write. We treat this as sensitive. It is used only to provide the
Service — selecting passages, generating meditations, showing your history back to you — and
for nothing else. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to build profiles
for third parties.
3. How we use information
- To provide and personalize the Service (select passages for your mood, generate
narration and meditations, remember your preferences and favorites).
- To operate subscriptions, enforce plan limits, and prevent abuse.
- To improve the app through aggregate usage analytics.
- To respond when you contact us.
4. Service providers we share data with
We use a small set of processors to run Renew. They receive only what's needed for their
function:
- Google Firebase (Google LLC) — sign-in, database, file storage,
hosting, notifications, and analytics.
- RevenueCat — subscription management (your account or anonymous
purchase identifier and subscription state).
- Apple App Store, Google Play, and Stripe — payment processing for
Renew Pro on their respective platforms (your payment details go directly to the
processor).
- ElevenLabs — text-to-speech. Receives the text to narrate (Scripture
and meditation scripts), not your identity.
- xAI Grok — generates meditation and reading scripts
and study notes. They receive the passage and context such as the selected mood and
listener gender — not your name, email, or prayer requests.
- Bible text providers (API.Bible, bible-api.com) — supply Scripture
text for the translation you choose.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it with third parties for their
own advertising or marketing.
5. Retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account is active. Settings → Delete
account permanently deletes your profile and preferences, favorites, prayer
requests, suggestions, activity events, and your login itself. Payment and subscription
records are retained by the applicable store or payment processor and RevenueCat as
required for financial record-keeping.
Guest data lives on your device — clearing site data (or the in-app cache controls) removes
it.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored with Google Cloud's protections. Server
secrets are held in managed secret storage, and access to production data is limited. No
system is perfectly secure, but we design for least access.
7. Children
Renew is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal
information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information,
contact us and we will delete it.
8. Where data is processed
We are based in the United States and process data there. If you use Renew from
elsewhere, you understand your information is processed in the U.S.
9. Your choices and rights
- Use guest mode to keep everything on your device.
- Edit or delete prayer requests and favorites in the app; delete your account entirely
in Settings.
- Decline notifications, or revoke them in your browser or device settings.
- Email us to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you. Depending on
where you live you may have additional statutory rights, and we'll honor valid
requests.
10. Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy as the Service evolves, and update the effective date above.
For material changes we'll take reasonable steps to notify you in the app.
